Welcome–the Fall version

On my front porch I have a Star hangar by Joined at the Hip.  Even though it is protected from the elements by the porch roof, the two quilt banners I made for the hangar are getting faded.  I sent for four new patterns and delved into one today.

The bottom portion needs to be sewn to the top and the letters and appliqued leaves/stems need some blanket-stitching done.  Then of course comes the quilting! (The solid green of the borders and the green plaid at the bottom are actually the same green – but the photo makes them look very different.)

Also on my agenda today was working on some binding for my friend Moe.

Fall Welcome 003

It is a race-car quilt and has ‘Vrooom” fabric on the back.  So cute!!

As I recover from surgery, my family and friends have been taking excellent care of me.

Bunny fun

At home, recovering from surgery, I decided I needed a fun project.  My cousin, Lou Ann, gave me this kit titled Spring Surprise by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts.  The kit came with all the fabric and each piece was labeled.  It was so enjoyable to put together.

It is raw edge applique, so with a little quilting I will have an adorable decoration for next Spring.  Thanks Lou Ann!

Black and White Stash

In my continuing quest to use up my stash, I decided that I had a lot of black and white fabric (two large plastic containers) and it was time to make a dent.

So I made a little quilt -

Hmmmm – that didn’t use up very much.   So I cut out tumblers for another quilt -

And pulled fabric to make a large tote bag…..

And I still have the same two large containers of black and white fabric.

I made a small dent, but I will need to make at least three more black and white quilts to get the stash down to one container.

Don’t ask me about the containers of green fabric!
