Christmas Decorating

Today I put my tree up.
(OK, OK, so it's a little itty bitty thing - it's a Christmas Tree!)

I also put out these two place mats that I started two years ago and finally finished today.

Of course good old St. Nick (made by Lindsay) was hung in the place of honor in my living room.

A woolie made by Moe  -

a quilt made by Melanie -

and a 12 Days of Christmas quilt (made by me) -

and a Scentsy warmer with the Nativity scene
complete most of my Christmas decorating for 2010

(Just love that Silent Night Scentsy warmer! ! )

More Christmas stuff.....

This beautiful Christmas Cactus plant was purchased a week ago for $2.00. The blooms are so vibrant and lush. While the temperature outside is well below freezing, I can enjoy a wonderful plant from the desert in my cozy warm home.

Among my favorite Christmas quilts are the two below. They are colored with crayons, framed with fabric, and the edges are finished with pinking shears. So easy and so much fun to make.

I hope that you are cozy and warm this Christmas season and enjoying some favorite quilts also.

Christmas Decorations

This cuddly pot-bellied little snowman is watching the world go by from the vantage point of my dining room table. That is a soft flannel quilt on the table, made many years ago. I love all the smiling faces of the snowmen.
My fireplace looks inviting on this cold December day. Two beautiful poinsettia plants add Christmas color.
Last year I went all out with Christmas Decorations - a big tree and decorations in every room. This year I'm keeping it simple and easy. After a small health problem and surgery, I'm ready to sit back, relax, and enjoy my quiet home. Thankfully I'm doing well, feeling great, and fully recovered. This year I will enjoy the season, hearing the story of the birth of Jesus, the music, the colors, the family parties, the food, and finally a big family wedding on December 29th. Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la la la.
Today I am grateful for the color red. (And green.)
